Introducing Pink Door's "My Pink Wish" Assistance Program!
"To help all women cancer survivors begin a new life, a new career after cancer" - including women cancer patients who are currently receiving cancer treatment in efforts of paving their path to remission.
If you are a woman cancer survivor or currently receiving treatment or know of someone who is, please click on the "My Pink Wish" to read more about the program and to download your Assistance Program Application. This is your opportunity to have your wish granted. Applications for wishes granted will be accepted on a rotating timeline throughout 2011. Applications are based on first come, first serve basis for those women cancer survivors or women currently receiving treatment who need help most. All applications for women cancer survivors or women currently receiving treatment will be considered as set forth by Pink Door's Board of Directors and those that apply must live in Houston, TX or the surrounding area. Should your wish be granted, Pink Door will contact you, therefore please fill out all information on the application. Those applications received incomplete will unfortunately not be considered at this time. On behalf of Pink Door's Board of Directors, we look forward to granting many wishes to come!

How cool is this?? THe The 2011 main draw will be made a 3 p.m. TODAY LIVE ON TWITTER!!
It will be featuring 2011 US Men's Clay Court Championship participant Somdev Devvarman of India. Devvarman is a two-time NCAA Champion from the University of Virginia and also a Commonwealth Games gold medalist. He is ranked a career high this week, having reached the final earlier this year in Johannesburg and the fourth round at Indian Wells.
As the draw is made, the match ups will instantly be tweeted by the tournament at HERE , then Devvarman will offer his opinion on the match on his personal Twitter. To make following easier, the conversation will be aggregated using the hashtag #ATPHouston.
If you don't have your tickets yet, some are still available. Tickets for select individual sessions at the 2011 US Men’s Clay Court Championship remain available. The Champ Pass and season ticket packages have sold out for the 2011 event.

One of DISH'S favorite programs in sports in Houston is what we are calling the ACE program!
Patrons with tickets they will not able to use may donate them back to the River Oaks box office. Those tickets will then be on sale at the box office for face value with 100% of the proceeds donated to the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Childrens.
US Men’s Clay Court Championship at River Oaks Country Club
The 102nd competition for the US Men’s Clay Court Championship will be held April 4-10, 2011, at River Oaks Country Club in Houston. Started by the USTA in 1910, it has been held at numerous venues around the country. The tournament has been held in Houston since 2001, and will be held at River Oaks Country Club for the third straight year. Prior to hosting the US Men’s Clay Court Championship, River Oaks Country Club hosted its own event, The River Oaks International. Started in 1931, the River Oaks International roster of former champions includes Jack Kramer, Tony Trabert, Rod Laver, Roy Emerson, Ken Rosewall, Ivan Lendl, Guillermo Vilas and James Blake. The 2011 US Men’s Clay Court Championship will be the 77th tournament at River Oaks, with the club hosting a tournament every year since 1946 after a four-year lapse due to the war. April is for Apes!
It’s no April Fool’s Day prank. The Houston Zoo is turning April into “Ape”ril at the Houston Zoo and celebrating apes all month long.
During “Ape”ril the Houston Zoo will be featuring chimpanzees, orangutans, and siamangs, three of the world’s ape species, which can also be seen at the Zoo, with entertaining and educational activities including an ape themed Zoobilee, the Zoo’s annual Member-only event, an ape Spotlight on Species, ape themed events during Waste Management Earth Day at the Houston Zoo, and a Wild Wink Overnight at Tommy’s Tree House in the newest addition to the Zoo, The African Forest. “Ape”ril at the Houston Zoo also includes a special ape giveaway for each child who visits the Zoo this month. Thursday and Friday, April 7 and 8 – Zoobilee 5 pm – 8 pm
- Zoobilee is where Members come out to play! This year, the annual Members-only event will feature apes!
- Open to Zoo Members only
Saturday, April 9 – Wild Wink Overnight in Tommy’s Tree house 6 pm – 9 am
- Spend the night at the Zoo for a unique, after-hours experience which includes interactive activities, touchable animals, pizza dinner, continental breakfast, and free admission to the Zoo on the second day!
- Price is $50 per person
Saturday and Sunday, April 16 and 17 – Waste Management Earth Day 9 am – 3 pm
- It’s a Party for the Planet and you’re invited! This year’s Earth Day event will also feature apes. Activities will include an Endangered Species Scavenger Hunt and Pin the Tail on the Monkey.
- This event is included in your regular Zoo admission
Saturday, April 30 – Spotlight on Species 9 am – 3 pm
- The Houston Zoo’s Keepers will put the spotlight on apes, with activities, education, and fundraising for ape conservation
