DISH is disappointed in FOX news tonight. They actually took time to sensationalize the correlation between lip gloss and skin cancer. WHAT??? First they said the glossy kind will intensify the sun's rays on the skin possibly, key word, increasing the opportunity for skin cancer to form on the lips...THEN later in the story said very specifically so read closely now...."We would like to emphasize that there have been no studies showing that lip gloss increases your risk of skin cancer"

THEN WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THE STORY PLEASE??

Note to FOX...Any good lip gloss wearer already knows to wear gloss with SPF in it if you are going to be outside! DUH!

It's OK to eat all kinds of tomatoes again, if you believe the U.S. government of course! They've lifted its salmonella warning on the summer fruits amid signs that the record outbreak, while not over, may finally be slowing.

The school board decided this week that a 5-year-old boy cannot go to school with long hair. Adriel Arocha has never cut his hair. His mother puts his hair in braids every morning, but now his two braids are the center of a controversy.

 

The Needville School Board held a public hearing on whether to allow Adriel to keep his long hair despite their dress code rules that specify boys cannot have hair below the collar. Adriel's father said his hair is part of their Native American heritage.

 

"It's our ancestry. It shows where we came from; it's wisdom and strength," said Kenney Arocha. 

"I'm just afraid if the district gives in, other problems will occur in the future," said Shelly Sullivan, a former Needville student. The superintendent said he had already denied any changes, but on different grounds. "The child is not enrolled, not a student," said Superintendent Curtis Rhodes. 

 

The family, however, have said they're moving into a house inside the district in a few weeks and the district will have to deal with Adriel's hair eventually.

 

"I really wasn't surprised. I knew they would say no," said Michelle Betenbaugh, Adriel's mother.

 

She said they still plan to enroll Adriel in school and will bring him to kindergarten his first day with long hair. She said if they're sent home, they'll try again the next day.

Two of the Houston Dynamo players have been named to the USA Olympic team for the Bejing Games! Patrick Ianni and Stuart Holden! GO GUYS!!! Congrats!!

The duo was named to the 18-man roster that will represent the United States in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. The squad consists of U-23 players and three over-age players selected by head coach Peter Nowak. The United States will face Japan, the Netherlands, and Nigeria in Group B action August 7-13.

DISH hears that cute little blonde who turns 23 on August 1st is a biter!! Bad form in bed, but hey..if it works on the field gnaw all you want! =)
