April is for Apes!
It’s no April Fool’s Day prank. The Houston Zoo is turning April into “Ape”ril at the Houston Zoo and celebrating apes all month long.
During “Ape”ril the Houston Zoo will be featuring chimpanzees, orangutans, and siamangs, three of the world’s ape species, which can also be seen at the Zoo, with entertaining and educational activities including an ape themed Zoobilee, the Zoo’s annual Member-only event, an ape Spotlight on Species, ape themed events during Waste Management Earth Day at the Houston Zoo, and a Wild Wink Overnight at Tommy’s Tree House in the newest addition to the Zoo, The African Forest. “Ape”ril at the Houston Zoo also includes a special ape giveaway for each child who visits the Zoo this month. Giveaway begins April 2. Limit one per child while supplies last. Item distributed upon exit. For more information about ‘Ape’ril at the Houston Zoo, CLICK HERE
