Stressful Troubles

Oh DISHIES! The past few weeks have been trying over here at the DISH offices. The head DISH has been sick and not able to perform her normal and usual duties! That's put everything off course, but there is good news! Now that Labor day is over and done with along with white shoes, pants and linen anything...we are ready to press on!

We hope your Labor Day was restful and delicious as it should have been!

Here is a song from one of DISH'S best friends and one of the Texas'...nay...the world's greatest talents...RUTHIE FOSTER!!!!

Remember, they are only problems and troubles if you let them be.

Blessings and love DISHIES!

Salvador's Salvation

In an economic time where the Salvation Army has more clients than resources a big donation is more welcome than usual. Currently on display and up for bid at the Washington Avenue Salvation Army store is a set of three allegedly real Salvador Dali pieces. According to a recent piece in the New York Times, the lot was donated by a wealthy widow of an oil magnate who has been a gracious supporter of the Adult Rehabilitation Program at the Salvation Army. She prefers to stay anonymous.

The pieces came with documentation from 2 years ago stating that they were in fact real and not fakes. Dali is one of the most faked artists in the world. The authenticity of the pieces are, of course, up for debate due to two of the most well known and respected Dali authorities in the U.S. having such a strong dislike for each other.

Regardless of the drama surrounding the donation, it's a huge coup for the Salvation Army to have such a wonderful opportunity. The pieces have been appraised at more than $70,000 and at last count the bid sheet was up to $8,000.

Wake-Up Call From Heck!

Dish's Future ex-boyfriend got a nasty wake up call this morning! Lance Armstrong says he got a knock on his door at 6:50 Thursday morning by anti doping agents. This was just 13 hours after he got back in Austin following some time off after the Tour De France race.

In a tweet , the Austinite said “knock-knock, 6:50am. Anti-doping inspectors at the house. Wow.”

When a friend asked Armstrong over Twitter if he made them breakfast, he replied, “no but offered coffee. Nice folks (many times the same peeps). But 6:50???” We love out Lancie Poo! Isn't he so nice and such a sense of humor! SWOON... =)

He said girlfriend Anna Hansen and 3-month-old son Max weren’t too happy.

Lance Armstrong was "particularly monitored" by the  France's sports minister in anti-doping checks at the Tour de France this year. They sent the warning to the seven-time Tour winner who came out of retirement to race again in cycling's showcase.

"The (doping) controls will be multiplied, and I tell Lance Armstrong that he will be particularly, particularly, particularly monitored," an official has said.

A-Holes....Jealousy won't do you any good. I'm just sayin'...

The Austinite has denied having taken banned substances during his cycling career. In a tweet from his Twitter earlier this year, Armstrong has said of the announcement, "No worries, it's been this way for 10 years. I have nothing to hide."

Armstrong finished a strong third place in the Tour De France this year—finishing 5:24 behind his Team Astana teammate, Alberto Contador, who won his second tour.

Armstrong has won the Tour seven times. He has also won 22 individual stages, including 11 time trials.
