This year´s annual holiday bash supporting Glasstire and Fresh Arts Coalition is a glittering celebration of all things shiny!!! MIRROR BALL will be one of our signature wild nights of costumes, a killer art auction, and mayhem.

Join Channel 39's Jorge Vargas this Wednesday at Tipsy Clover in Mid-town from 6-2am to help raise money and collect toys for Toys for Tots! How can you help - bring an unopened toy or donate $10 at the door to help local children have a better Christmas. All this charity work making you thirsty? Stop by the bar and order a drink from Jorge himself - and tip big cause it’s all for a good cause!

It's Wednesday...the weather is odd, finances suck and you are looking for something to do...Here ya go!!!

This fall at the Artist Resource Center (ARC), Spacetaker has hosted three Happy Hours designed to introduce local artists to the business aspects of making art. Kicking off a partnership with Amegy Bank, Spacetaker inaugurates its “Focus on Finances” Happy Hours, introducing artists to basic entrepreneurial practices, including financial management, asset building, mortgage shopping, and retirement planning. The “Focus on Finances” Happy Hours. TOnight is the last one!!! From 6-7 pm at the Spacetaker ARC.

From these informal, informative events, Spacetaker plans to collect feedback from participants in order to plan and design its Financial Literacy for Artists workshops for 2009.

The third 90-minute session on tonight will consist of an hour-long presentation on business/personal accounting, budgeting, and money management for individuals and small businesses. Following the presentation, there will be a 30-minute question and answer session.

Drinks and snacks will be served!

Spacetaker and Amegy will provide refreshments and hand-outs of the presentation for attendees.

Following the third Happy Hour, attendees will be surveyed to assess the target subjects for the 2009 workshops.
