Big-D..not for Lovers...

DISH has heard the rumors...we are just waiting confirmation...the romance between Jessica Simpson and hotshot QB Tony Romo is as dead as the Cowboys' 2007 playoff run. Their reps have been going on the record saying that they're not split, but our sources -- who know what's really going on -- say the two have cut the cord ... We'll let you know the DISH as we hear more.

Ron Stone Dies

Ron%20Stone.jpgHouston news veteran Ron Stone died today from a battle with prostate cancer.

Stone was a staple on the Houston television news scene for four decades and was highly respected in the nation wide news community. He very much set the standard for our local news professionals. Ron will be sorely missed by so many. Make sure to watch Channel 2 this evening to see the dedications to Stone from his former co workers. To read about Stone's history in our amazing town, click HERE.

Ron Stone, dead at the age of 72. Good Night, Neighbor.

Houston Zoo Has New Babies!!!

prairie-dog-pups.jpgThey’re cute, adorable, furry and oh so quick.  They’re the newest arrivals at the Houston Zoo – three black-tailed prairie dogs born approximately six weeks ago at the Zoo’s McGovern Children’s Zoo and just now emerging from their burrow.  They’ve been scampering around the Children’s Zoo’s prairie dog exhibit for a few days now and will stay fairly close to their mother for several more weeks.  The best time to see the pups is late morning or mid to late afternoon. So make sure you take your babies over to the zoo this weekend and greet the newest addition!

More Beautiful Gardens for Houston

After more than 50 years since Miss Ima Hogg generously donated Bayou Bend and her collection of American decorative arts and paintings to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, a groundbreaking ceremony was held today for the Lora Jean Kilroy Visitor and Education Center adjacent to the Bayou Bend estate in River Oaks. The 25,000-square-foot
visitor and education center will realize Miss Hogg's vision by enriching and expanding Bayou Bend's public programs and outreach to the Houston community and beyond. In addition to the building, the $25 million campaign includes funds for endowment, property, and special projects. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
