Number 41 Approves

Tuesdays fashion showcase was star studded to say the least. Designers David Peck, Elaine Turner, Lauren Bush, Lela Rose and Net-A-Porter shows were on tap for the evening.

Peck’s line “CrOp,” was a real crowd pleasers. His designs are CrOp which is short for “creative opportunities.” It makes one wonder what the creative process is like in the minds of the great fashion creators with Peck showing he is on his way to elite status.

Former President George Bush, wife Barbara Bush were on hand to support granddaughter Lauren Bush line “Lauren Pierce,” which is dedicated to “Women for Women International,” which teaches women how to hand-dye fabrics. Also there to support Lauren were her dad Neil Bush, brother Pierce Bush and stepmom Maria Bush

Lauren’s line is made with environmentally friendly fabrics as well as handcrafted fabrics from artisans around the world. The eco-friendly fabrication combined with these worldly inspirations makes for a timelessly eclectic collection that is both socially conscious and beautiful. Lela Rose has an unbelievable shoe line at payless and Net-A-Porter line was extravagant to say the least.

It does appear that Houston is trying to make it's mark on the map thanks to Fashion Houston 2010, the question remains however....Can it?

Only time will tell, in the mean time DISHIES, see you on the runway!
