Carl Jung wrote, “The conscious mind is on top, the shadow underneath, and just as high always longs for low and hot for cold, so all consciousness, perhaps without being aware of it, seeks its unconscious opposite, lacking which it is doomed to stagnation, congestion, and ossification. Life is born only of the spark of opposites.”
The tension of opposing forces is the wellspring from which all creativity flows. In the world of musical expression, these forces are played out and balanced unlike in any other art form. This musical journey explores the creative tension of shadows and light, dissonance and harmony, chaos and order. Music Doing Good core artists and special guest, flutist, Judy Dines, of the Houston Symphony will explore this theme across genres of music, from classical compositions to original songs.
