One of DISH'S very favorite things to do is support local music. Patrice Pike has been a main stay on the Texas music scene since she was at least 18 years old. After founding the world wide success of a band Sister Seven (originally called Little Sister) in 1991 and Rolling Stone Magazine said,

"She's Tina Turner, Bessie Smith, Janis Joplin, and Robert Plant, rolled into a tiny, but explosive package."

Patrice saw success few of our Texas favorites get to see. After disbanding on 2001 and going on to do her solo projects like being a contestant on the tv show Rockstar Supernova in 2006 where INXS was looking for a new lead singer. We definitely have someone to be very proud of with Patrice in our quiver.

However, there is something even more wonderful about her that the public didn't know, a secret that she chose to make public so she could help others.

Patrice was a homeless teenager.

Something deep in her soul urged her to co-found The Grace Foundation to help those kids who have aged out of the system and get them into college so they can have the opportunities they deserve.

On May 12, 2012, The Grace Foundation will have it's 3rd event here in Houston where, according to Pike, the welcome has been more than Texas warm,

"The Grace Foundation has found a ‘home’ in the hearts of Houstonians. GRACE Foundation returns to town on May 12 to help local young adults in need—to lay the groundwork for a third, even more successful year of finding sustainable solutions for GRACE assistance recipients."

The fundraising event will begin at 6:30p.m. on Saturday, 12 MAY 2012, at Warehouse Live with Kristine Mills and Patrice Pike as well as a live painting to be done on stage during the performances that will be auctioned off at the end of the evening.

Tax-deductible VIP tickets start at $50.00. Table Sponsorship ranges from $500 - $1000. Advance VIP tickets receive access to reserved table seating, VIP lounge, dinner, and complimentary cocktails and may be purchased online here. Tickets will be sold at the door, based on availability.
